I could have named this post so many things.

"What to wear to a job interview at a 1980's night club"
"Did people in the 80's not have a waist?"
"This is not a top, it's a dress."

Okay that last one is a little boring, but sometimes the truth is boring. What about -- This top is...actually a dress!!! See that's better. I can just feel your excitement. I bet you are clapping at your computer screen right now, I know I am.

Sometimes when I buy things from a thrift store, I wonder where else the item was worn and who would give up such a gem. I also wonder why people in the past had such tiny waists. I wore this outfit yesterday and by dinner I had to unzip my skirt because I thought I was having an appendicitis. Turns out, I wasn't. My skirt was just too tight. Will that stop me from buying tiny blue skirts and wearing them pushed up to my rib cage so? Yeah right. You're going to have to do a lot more than fake an emergency, internal organs.

I cleaned out my closet this week and remembered that I had forgotten about this skirt. This was my proudest purchase to date from Anthropologie -- it cost me $10. And $10 at Anthro is like $100 at Target, so you can understand my excitement.  I kind of feel like I ended up making money off the deal, somehow. Let me do my math and get back to you on that, but I'm pretty sure that me buying this skirt was Anthro's loss.

I've been in a full skirt mode lately. Not that I've lost my love for pencil skirts, but I just love the look of a-line skirts this spring. Plus I kind of feel like a lady. I type this as I'm sitting slouched in my chair, legs definitely not crossed, both elbows on the desk.

I'm a swine with pearls on, or in this case a really pretty skirt.

At the Texas Style Council Conference a few weeks ago, Jen and I swapped a few items. So far I've worn it twice on my blog and I've slept in it every single night. It's the jacket I never knew I wanted. Kind of like when people say "you're the son/daughter I never had." But this is a jacket. So it's kind of different.

Breaking news: It's a good thing we already took photos today because I just got Nutella on my shirt. I was making a Nutella sandwich. What's that you ask? That's when you take a spoonful of Nutella and place it in between two other spoonfuls of Nutella. Delicious and healthy.*

*Depends on what your definition of healthy is. My definition includes Nutella.
