Now I for some reason thought Mr. Calvin Klein
only made jeans and basics. Well I was surprised
to see that I was dead wrong! His spring 2009
collection is crisp and classic cool.

For the women it's simple whites but with great
angles and shapes which is great because it's not
just a boring piece and it's easy to wear and still look
killer!

The men's is really well fitted suits but some
of them have bold color such as red and yellow!
And it all is very now and futuristic which I am
a huge fan of!

There are for sure some must have's!

So I don't think I really have 'winter' clothing... I kind of just wear anything all year round, + layers + jackets. But, today looked so beautiful out it made me wish for spring to hurry up so I can run around without hiding behind a big ol' coat. Here are some cute looks I liked today.

I'll have more looks throughout the weeks. I got bored of changing.. so I'm back to the first look. There is just something about 80s new wave that has always appealed to me. Not only for the music, but maybe its the androgynous cuts or a punch of color in the right places. That era brought a whole new take on modern design. Forget Molly Ringwald, doesn't anyone remember Samantha Baker's bff's bedroom in 16 candles. Red and Glass shower squares part of her bedframe! Check out LELA ROSE and A.F. VANDEVORST Spring 09' collections for a similar vibe.

Covet Spring

*Covet Fall 2008

This past summer I headed east for a quick week in Montreal. I spent massive amounts of time on St. Catherine's Street but for some reason didn't find Fly Boutique until middle of the week. I bought a few things and chatted with the owner, Arianna, about some of the local designers she carried. One that intrigued me was Covet, a Montreal based brand that uses natural fibers. Arianna didn't have much left of their Spring/Summer 08 (it was the first week of August) so she told me she would call me when she got the Fall collection in.

I went back in on the Sunday and it was really tough. I was broke beyond belief (I spent some of my scholarship on this trip - it was bad), but I couldn't help myself and I tried on some items. I was happy to find out that Leo Boutique carries Covet and I'm looking forward to the day the Spring 09 collection comes in.They've recently posted some photos of their Spring 09 collection in their Facebook group and I am so excited for what they have. Especially the pants featured for the season, they look comfy beyond believe and oh so stylish.

I am so happy with next year's Spring lines!

They seem very fitting for a content, yet intuitive woman.
We see major changes from last Spring's flowery femme fatale designs with stronger, edgier lines. It's about the woman who is confident, naturally pretty and not overdone.
Think back to early 80's Soap Operas, but in the best way possible.
The day is a breeze, and the night is full of drama.
Spring fabric include silks, thick cottons, and grid-like designs.
We see bold primary and pastel colors, and materials with monochromatic prints.
Evening wear, the clothes take a life all their own with pieces so beautifully created, they might just out shadow the person wearing them.
If you do wear something flashy, make sure to balance it out with a neutral jacket or shoe.

The big question next season is: How do I go for big pieces and still show off my silhouette?
The answer: high waists, tapered pants, and creating new shapes entirely. Don't be afraid of innovation.
