Leisure Lace...

Hi everyone! How were your weekends? Mine was pretty action-packed, including dinner with friends, drinks, and lots of running around... Fun! Yesterday was a little more relaxed though, which you can probably tell from my outfit. We took a nice walk through the park with a couple of friends from out of town, stopped by the petting zoo to check out all the cute animals (hello, baby goats!), and had some seriously delicious ice cream before calling it a day... I don't know what it is lately, but I'm really into mixing prints. Especially if they clash. What's my deal, you ask? Well my friends, I wish I could tell you... Maybe it's the unexpected way the eye reacts to prints that don't "match" by conventional standards. Maybe it's the strange looks these combos garner. Or maybe I'm just a weirdo. Who knows, maybe it's all three...

Cruise Collection...

Hi!!! How was everyone's weekends? I had an amazing time in Vancouver complete with a little shopping, some in-your-face hockey mania (you have no idea!), and a delightful trip to Solly's Bagels, as per our tradition... What did you guys get up to?

OK, now that we're all caught up, can we please take a moment here to talk about these shorts? I bought them impulsively at Winners last week (only $16.99!), yet so far it has been quite the love affair. The print seems very cruise ship lady (CSL) to me, which is what initially drew me to them, and I'm totally smitten with the fit, which basically means they're not too short/scandalous. A win-win, if you will...

I tried to tone them down here with the black tights and jacket (not to mention it was chilly that day!), but the bright vintage top and orange quilted bag are somewhat akin to their CSL roots... What do you guys think? Are they cute or over the top? Give it to me straight, friends; I can take it... ;)

Hi loves! I'm writing this post at warp speed before heading to Vancouver for the weekend... I'm not even packed or dressed yet, and I have an 11am date with the ferry (it's 9:30!), so needless to say I'm in a bit of a hurry. Hello lovelies! I hope everyone is having a nice, productive Thursday afternoon... I myself am trying to make my way through an ever-expanding to do list, so here's hoping I have something to show for myself by the end of the day!

Anyway, my lovely and talented friend Adria shot these pics for me last weekend, giving Mr. AIF a nice little break from photo-duty. We decided to use this lovely old heritage home as a backdrop (thankfully no one minded!), and had a lot of fun goofing around... What can I say, girls will be girls!

I bought this dress several months ago, but had only worn it once before to a blogger meet-up in Edmonton. I love the print and the crazy colours, which seem more subdued in the photos than they actually are, and the detail around the neckline makes my heart pitter-patter... Hey, it's the simple things in life, right?

Pink, Blue & a Graffiti Wall or Two...

Hi lovelies! We took these photos last week while strolling around downtown Victoria in search of jobs... Although we didn't find any that day, we did, however, find the perfect backdrop for photos. This little alley boasts privacy (as far as downtown alleys go), graffiti and amazing afternoon light... What more could you ask for, you say? Well how about a little background info!

Evidently this alley is where shackled prisoners were led to the gallows, and is supposed to be haunted by not only them, but by a small boy who fell down an adjacent well many moons ago when Victoria was still a fort... Cool, huh? I guess I've been on a fair share of ghost tours in my day.

Tribal Dance...

Hello lovelies! How is everyone on this fine Saturday evening? Here's a look at what I wore today to run errands and grab a Starbucks with Mr. AIF... One of my besties gave me this rad Forever 21 blazer last night because, if you can believe it, she wasn't quite feeling it anymore! Needless to say her loss is my gain, because I'm absolutely IN LOVE WITH IT!!! I can't wait to mix and match this little lovely with all my other clothes, making as many awesome combos as I can. Oh, the possibilities...

What do you guys think of my red shorts? I bought them before leaving for Victoria but had yet to wear them... Go figure. I'm really feeling the colour and length (I don't wear short shorts!), and I love the material, even though linen wrinkles all too easily... You know what else? I just realized that we're nearing the end of the month, which means my "Was it in the Bag" contest is coming to an end. To be honest, I kinda forgot about it for a while there, but we might as well end it with a bang, right? The prize has been picked, and now all you have to do is tell me if the shorts were in one of those bags from way back when... A bonus entry will be given to those who guess correctly whether or not my Forever 21 blouse from the previous post was in one of the bags as well... Choose wisely, grasshoppers.
