Seventies

{Shop: Top,Similar JeansNecklace}

If I had to live in one era it would probably be the 1970s. Or the 1920s, but I had to pick one and the other goes best with my post today, so 70s it is.  There is something about these wide leg jeans that make me feel carefree and bohemian. Although I'll never give up skinny jeans (and I mean never: I will wear them till I die even if I am the only 90 year old wearing them. I'll be a hot 90 year old.) they are a nice break from the norm.

Speaking of a break from the norm, we are off on a road trip to visit the in-laws. And lucky for B, I just downloaded all of my favorite songs from high school. At least one of us will be having a good time.

Blogger actually ate my post draft from yesterday and the day before, so we'll just forge ahead with today's outfit. (Blogger has been down for two days now, I promise I've been getting dressed anyways.)

Would you like to know how long it took me to get my hair like this? I'd say give or take 36 hours. That's right, this is second day hair. Something I never do. Why? Because quite honestly my hair gets really nasty stinky, really fast. Like within a day fast. I'm not like you thick-haired goddesses out there. This girl is greasy. But I recently discovered dry shampoo and while my hair is still kind of stinky and nasty, it still kind of looks good as long as I don't move my head. And kind of looks good is good enough for me. Plus, I just need it to look good for 5 minute photos. The other 23 hours and 55 minutes don't really count. Or in this case 35 hours and 55 minutes.

B and I are hitting the road to visit my parents and other loved ones. (Sister, this means you.) This outfit just screams "road trip" doesn't it? I technically should not wear these heels and drive, which is precisely why I'm wearing these heels. Looks like Bryan will have to do the driving on this 6 hour trip. He's a lucky man, that kid.

You should know that these photos deceiving. We took these Saturday night when it was warm and sunny. I bet you thought "wow it looks so warm there, I hate where I live..." Well, not so fast. Today it's 45 degrees and drizzly. That's about a 40 degree difference in two days. Texas weather will mess with your mind. And your hair.

So needless to say, I hate when the weather doesn't cooperate with my outfit plans. Is it okay if I don't get dressed today? If I hang out in my Snuggie all day? You guys cool with that if I still post photos?

OOTD - Shearling

Ok I'm a naughty blogger, not updating, but I'm back on the ball now and have got a cracker for ya.

I'm back at university now, and I am really enjoying myself. Third year, and its going swell, I'm on track to be a big Tv exec! Not really but at least I'll be well dressed when I fail. As well as that I have my little car still, I managed to bagsy myself some Glasto tickets, I'm getting more hours at my part time job at Schuh so I'm really happy at the moment!

As well as that, being back in Liverpool means I get to shop in some of the best shops everrrrr, 'cos Liverpool is a great city to shop in and work in. It's got L1 and Bold Street which is great for Charity shops and Vintage buys.

Anyway on with the OOTD - The shearling jacket is EVERYWHERE!! It's great for winter, it's cool, it goes with practically everything, and every shop has their own design so you and your friends can all have different designs. There is the classic aviator leather jackets, but there are also different types, such as the Denim shearling jacket, and the Parka shearling jacket. The cuff can be lined with fur and sheepskin or whatever furry material you like!

My particular jacket is a one-off from Oxfam for £20! It doesn't fit perfectly but I love it! It's so warm and I can really wear it with anything. Here for your entertainmentI've paired it with a laid back outfit.

As you can see I went with the Aviator style, choosing the large collar, and turned up cuffs. The buckle detail is also really great and adds more dimension to the jacket. I put on some cheap style tan brogues from Primark and some ripped, torn jeans. This outfit is really comfy and I felt confident wearing it all day, as well as pretty damn on trend if I do say so myself.
Like I say you can wear it with everything, I've seen it being specifically styled alot with tartan skirts so if that's something you like go for it!

Anyway I promise I've got more outfits coming including Velvet, Khaki, and Masculine trends.

What are you wearing this winter? Are you liking the shearling jacket or just sticking with your winter coat?

Jacket - Oxfam
Jeans - Levi's
T-shirt - Asos Curve
Necklace - Muse (Manchester )
Brogues - Primark

The search for the ultimate pair of jeans...

So I went into TopShop on Thursday after school in the hope that I would find a nice new pair of jeans to where to Evolution (which is today- excited!)
How wrong I was.
All the jeans they had were 80's throwback, ripped and torn bleached denim. Or lots of pairs of jeggings (the jeans/leggings hybrid)
It's not even that I have a problem with these style jeans it's just that I don't like them on me.
So I picked out 6 pairs of what seemed like decent jeans but they all were either too big/too small/too baggy in the wrong places/too tight in the wrong places/wrong colour etc.

On one particular pair of "What was I thinking even picking these off he rack" jeans, which had everything going on (buttons, zips up the leg, bleached, ripped, the whole shebang) I refused to come out of the changing room in them. When my friend demanded to see them and I denied she tore open the curtain in front of the whole TopShop changing room and laughed out loud at the sight of me.
Not exactly the look I was going for (even though I can't blame her; I looked ridiculous)

But seriously is it that hard to find a pair of dark blue skinny (but not drainpipe cut-off-all-the-circulation-to-your-calves-tight) jeans?

Beth's search for the perfect pair of jeans continues...
