5 Things You Should Know About Accessorizing

You can create any number of unique outfits simply by using a variety of accessories. Add a colorful necklace to draw attention to your neckline. Wear a brooch to add interest in a unique and unusual place. Pull a long necklace through your belt loops to serve as a belt. Tie your hair back into a chic ponytail and let gorgeous earrings bring attention to your face. Add a unique bracelet to show off your delicate wrists. Throw a classic handbag over your shoulder to emphasize a slim waistline. You can customize any look with fashion accessories.

I once read somewhere: Be wise – accessorize. I totally agree! Why do I love accessorizing so much? Accessories can take your personal style up another notch and create a whole new look out of the same piece of clothing. You can stick with a few key pieces in your wardrobe and then create look after look with different accessories. Accessories also have the power to bring attention to your strong points via colors, shapes and unique designs. They help you individualize your own personal style.

So, here are the 5 key things you need to know about accessorizing:

1. It's okay to mix silver and gold.

• Keep in mind that only one element of mixing silver and gold should be integrated within your outfit. Decide on whether this is your shoes and handbag or your fashion jewelry.

2. Focus on one key accessory, such as a necklace or handbag, and keep the other accessories light.

• KISS Principle applies!

3. Stay within a certain color family when accessorizing.

• Combining green and red should maybe just be reserved for Christmas…

4. Your handbag color and shoe color can be different colors.

• Who has the time to switch handbags every morning?!

5. Most importantly – keep it simple, chic and feminine.

• The emphasis should still remain on you!

As with clothing, I recommend that you invest in some quality fashion jewelry pieces and leather handbags. Fine quality fashion jewelry pieces and high-quality leather handbags remain with you for a long time. Therefore, make sure that they are unique and represent your individuality. Our goal is to let you shine your beauty! Your accessories should be a reflection your own personal style and complement your look.

Keep in mind that the 5 key things about accessorizing outlined above are not set rules. Fashion accessories are meant to add an element of flair and fun to your style!

So, don't forget: be wise and accessorize.

Black is Beautiful

By Guy Katir

Since old time times, more black women have opted for hairstyles that are "Americanized" and project the societal views of beautiful hair. In modern day times, black women must choose to conform to Western society and their hairstyles or go for the more natural look. Nothing is more evident of this trend than the huge amounts of money spent yearly on black hairstyles at various salons.

Unlike other American cultural trends, black hairstyles represent a significant history and pride amongst black women. Your problem may be that you do not understand the needs of Black hair care and your hair is not in the best condition to copy those hairstyles.

I guess we will have to wait and see if the Jennifer Aniston hairstyle or the Jennifer Lopez hairstyle will be one of the prominent celebrity hairstyles in 2006 or if someone else with a bob style or a curly style makes the headlines. Healthy hair deserves an exceptional hairdo chosen from the many wedding hairstyles, including updos, medium hairstyles, curly hairstyles and even celebrity hairstyles, just make sure to discuss with your stylists the different styles and test those that you would like to wear on your wedding day. Everywhere you looked, you could see celebrities with many different and fashionable hairstyles from short and sweet to long and elegant, from curly or wavy to up-styles.

But this does not mean that taking ten minutes to style your hair isn't going to make your hair style look good, in fact, creating quick, trendy and beautiful hairstyles can be done in a very short space of time. Jennifer Anniston, who has won our hearts as a very talented and beautiful actress, is also well known for her trademark hairstyles. However, since that time, more black women have opted for hairstyles that are "Americanized" and project the societal views of beautiful hair.

by: Dana Goldberg

If you want to be beautiful then you need to be healthy, it is as simple as that. Good health means eating right and getting plenty of sleep. It also means getting a good amount of exercise.
Eating for beauty means getting a decent among of fiber in your diet each day. A good among of fiber is 25 grams of it, this is easy to have as part of your daily intake. You can eat a good fiber based cereal in the morning for a simple solution.

Protein is another powerful tool to staying beautiful even as you age. For the best possible diet protein should make up at least 20 percent of all that you eat. The more protein that you eat the more energy you are going to have to get you through your day. This great food source is gong to keep you feeling and looking good in every way.

Exercise is important because it will get the blood really flowing in your body. It is the blood that will bring the essential oxygen to the skin to keep it flushed and fresh looking. It will bring many other nutrients as well, ones that will keep the pesky wrinkles and creases at bay.

Fashion Trend Report: The New Basic is Anything But Black

by: Donna Monday

We all have it in our closets. Black – the universal color that mixes and matches with anything. Black makes us look good, while covering up figure flaws. And that’s good. Black has its place in our fashion hearts. But, now it’s time expand our wardrobe options into colorful uncharted territory.

Are you ready, ladies? Here are the new color combinations that will spice up your wardrobe and get you away from reaching for black when you may be in a mood for something a little more adventurous.

Chic Color Combo: Brown and Pink

Brown is a great alternative neutral to black. A brown pair of pants or a brown skirt with a pink top is a nice feminine look that is warm and inviting.

Chic Color Combo: Navy and Orange

Navy is traditionally paired with white or red. But let’s think outside the box a bit and go for a navy suit with an orange blouse or tank top. Wear navy shoes for a traditional look, or shoes with orange accents for a little fun.

Chic Color Combo: Burgundy and Red

For a casual look that has a wow impact, pair a burgundy top with a red sweater, jacket or hoodie. Wear with jeans.

Chic Color Combo: Charcoal and Yellow

Charcoal is a dark gray color that’s a step away from black. It goes great with cool toned colors but I bet you never thought about pairing it with yellow. Try a yellow sweater or sweater set with charcoal pants or skirt.

Chic Color Combo: Chocolate Brown and Baby Blue

Baby blue is a nice, soft blue color that looks good on most people. You can wear a baby blue top under a chocolate brown blazer or sweater. Soften that brown suit with a baby blue blouse or knit top.

Your Image - How To Dress For Respect

By Sandy Dumont

Image Consultant Sandy Dumont asks: Have you ever been treated with less respect than you feel you deserve? Have you ever been kept waiting unnecessarily? If you answered “Yes” to either of these questions, you may be surprised to learn that it may have something to do with the image you project.

Change your Image if you want to be treated like a V.I.P. Believe it or not, the problem may be that you don’t look important. In today’s “business casual” world, we often look more like we’re ready for a weekend getaway than for a workday. Think about it—would you keep a distinguished-looking business professional waiting? Would you treat him or her in a disrespectful fashion? Chances are, you wouldn’t, because the person looks important. We treat important people respectfully, even preferentially.

As an Image Consultant of over 30 years, my clients report that changing their image results in dramatic, “overnight” differences in the way they are treated at the grocery store, the drugstore and the hardware store — not just at the office. They find that they are suddenly given deferential treatment and increased respect. In a sense, they are “noticed” instead of being treated like “everyone else.” Want to test out my theory? Here are the basic ingredients:

Look as polished and professional as possible — from head to toe.

Messy hair, in particular, will prevent you from looking polished and professional.
Wear authoritative clothing and colors. Darker colors give more authority than pale colors; and stylish-looking suits immediately suggest clout.

Women: wear bolder earrings and other accessories. But, remember, you want to look like you are going to a board meeting, not a bridge game.

Men: bring out the “power ties” — not the pink one or the one with little pictures of Mickey Mouse all over it.

Stand up straight and tall. Good posture implies that you are a person of “stature.”

Next time you’re about to venture out to the grocery store, trade in your usual jeans and T-shirt for your best suit and tie — and see what happens.

Going on a business trip? Avoid your usual comfy jogging attire. Instead, dress up as if you were going straight to an important business meeting, and see what happens.

I find that I always get superb service when I’m “dressed,” but am easily ignored when I dress for comfort. Here’s a vivid example: on a recent overseas flight, I asked the flight attendant for a glass of champagne. She advised me that it was not available in tourist class. Then, she looked at me again and immediately reconsidered. She said, “Wait just a minute. I’ll get you some from first class.” She then proceeded to bring me not one, but two, glasses of champagne! I can only assume she thought I looked important enough to have my request fulfilled! So give it a try. Your newfound status may surprise you! You may even score a free glass of champagne, at the very least.

How To Use Make Up As A Fashion Accessory

Makeup can be one more accessory to your personal image and that’s why we are going to explain to you step by step the most flattering and easy trends so that this season you will be beautiful.

MAKEUP

There are various flattering trends this season. On the one hand, there is the natural look with earthy and gold tones, and neutral tones for the eyes and transparent but shinny lips. On the other hand, there is the sexier look with darker tones for the eyes from navy blue to purple, and (don’t forget black), and dark sexy lips.

ADVICE: Choose a look that works for you and one that you feel most comfortable with and follow the advice that we give you below.

FOUNDATION

Give a touch of something pearlescent to your foundation and you’ll achieve a modern and flattering look.

ADVICE: Apply your foundation to the entire face. Once it has been absorbed in to the skin, wait a few minutes for it to absorb, apply a small amount of illuminating powder in the T zone, forehead, cheekbones and chin. Blend it well with a brush for a pearly but natural effect. The result, light satiny skin.

COVER UP

Brighten your look by using a light cover up which is lighter than your skin tone over your foundation.

ADVICE: Blend it well around your eyes with your finger tip to take away any excess. And that’s it, a great look without bags and full of life.

EYES

For a natural look, use browns and neutral tones.

ADVICE: Apply a golden tone on the upper eyelid to achieve the look and give it a touch of light. If you want your eyes to have a stronger look, use a dark brown pencil on the inner eye.

For a sexy look, use darker tones, the ones you like the most, from navy blue to bottle green. Or if you like, use grays or blacks.

ADVICE: Don’t forget to put the darker color on your eyelid putting a blended line next to the eye lashes and put makeup on the outer eye with a black pencil. Lighten the eyelid just under the eyebrow with a pearly or shinny white for a sexy arousing look.

ESSENTIAL: Everyone notices mascara so curl your eyelashes beforehand and use two cotes to give them volume.

CHEEKBONES

Give your cheekbones a healthy look with soft rosy natural colors.

ADVICE: Blend blush well with a clean brush and loose powder on your cheekbones.

LIPS

If you want a natural look, or you have put too much lipstick on, apply lip gloss for a juicy natural look.

ADVICE: Choose a lip gloss that also shines and protects your lips.

On the other hand, if you want to forget the natural look, try a passion red or a bright fushia.

The result, sexy provocative, but natural lips.

ADVICE: Use a well-sharpened lip pencil that is very similar to your lipstick to outline your lips.
Do this before applying lipstick so that the color will last longer and it will be easier to use darker tones.

THE FINAL TOUCH

Wash your hair with a rinse similar to the natural color of your hair to make it brighter but without changing the color.

ADVICE: Ask you hairdresser. There are rinses that naturally moisturize and give shine to the hair.

Rumba & Revolution Part One

How To Apply Smokey Eye Make Up

Step 1. You must choose a good concealer. Always choose one shade lighter than your skin tone and completely cover any dark circles. Since the smokey eye is very dark, you want to be certain you have good coverage here.

Step 2. With a black eye pencil, draw a line along the upper lashes. Start thin at the inner corner of the eye gradually getting thicker as you work your way out.

Step 3. As close to the lower lash line as possible, draw a thin line. You can stop either one third of the way in or take it all of the way in to the inner corner. It all depends on how dramatic of a look you want. Play around with both and see what looks best on you.

Step 4. With black liquid eye liner, draw a line on top of the black eye pencil. This gives it staying power.

Step 5. Use a dark grey eye shadow and crease brush and apply eye shadow to the crease (only 1/3 of the way in) of your eye, using aback and forth motion. Blend well, until you see no visible lines. You can also use an eye liner brush, dip it into the grey eye shadow and run it over the liquid liner to add to the smokey look.

Step 6. Coat top and bottom lashes with two coats of black mascara.

Makeup Artist Tips:

Play around with different colors as long as the prominent colors are dark shades. I have done
this look with blues, greens, purples and it has always looked very sexy.

To make your eyes POP , apply a dab of white shadow to the inner corner of each eye with the tip of a thin brush. I do this with everybody and it instantly brings them to life!

The smokey eye look does take a bit of practice, but it is well worth it. It is a sultry evening look that looks great on just about everyone.

Make Up Tips - Foundation Make Up Tips For A Flawless Base

Selecting and applying foundation make up can be tricky. These foundation make up tips will help make this otherwise frustrating task, a little bit easier for you.

Choosing your color may seem intimidating, but it’s not as bad as it may seem. Simply swipe two or three colors that are close to your natural skin color along your jaw line. You want the make-up to disappear into your skin. If it doesn’t, move along until you find one that does.

Next, you will need to choose your finish and coverage. Are you looking for a sheer, dewy, look or something matte and long lasting? If all of this sounds overwhelming to you, schedule an appointment for a consultation at your favorite department store with a make up artist. This is typically a free service. Talk to them about your lifestyle and needs – are you active at the gym – do you prefer very little makeup – do you need more coverage due to blemishes and scarring? They will help you choose a foundation that is right for your skin type and lifestyle.

Once you have selected the foundation make up that is right for you, you need to prep your face so your foundation goes on smoothly.

Primers are getting a lot more recognition lately, and rightfully so. They help your foundation to glide on like silk and also give it staying power. One to try is Laura Mercier. Another option is to prep with moisturizer. You just have to be careful, because the ingredients in some moisturizers break down the foundation make up – leading it to discolor or peel.

As for application, there are mixed opinions on this. A sponge works well and is easy to blend, although many make-up artists insist on a brush. I think both work just fine and it is a matter of personal preference. I use a brush for the initial application, and blend with a sponge. Blending your foundation into your neck is so important. Do not forget this step or you will have a visible line, and we all know what that looks like don’t we?

Concealer should be applied one shade lighter where you are dark, and the same shade as your foundation where you need to cover redness. Look for a concealer that is water based. This is the biggest error women make when choosing concealer. The majority clog your pores, so the blemishes you are trying to cover are just being replaced! Laura Mercier has a wonderful two in one Camouflage that can be custom blended to match any skin tone.

Finally, dust some translucent loose powder over your entire face with a large brush. Skip this step if you want a dewy look.

There you have it, a flawless base.

Plus Size Denim Jeans A Style And Fit Guide

By Sara Johnson

The right pair of denim jeans may be the single most important piece of clothing in your wardrobe and will without a doubt be the most versatile piece in your collection. Plus size denim lines are ever increasing and the trend focused options available in standard sizing are rapidly becoming available for the plus size community. From your favorite tee to a kimono top, your entire look can be changed without ever taking off your denim. However, what looks stylish and sexy on one woman, makes another one look frumpy or outdated. So, how do you know what's right for you? Below are some basic guidelines to follow when shopping for the perfect piece of denim.

The golden rule is: Know what thyself is workin with! If you got it flaunt it, accentuate the positives. Booty like J Lo? Mile long legs? These are the features you want to accentuate. Work with different washes and of the minute denim shapes like boot-cut and wide leg that enhance your favorite features.

What is your body style? Wide Hips, avoid the temptation of drowning yourself in relaxed fit jeans, they will only add inches where you're trying to lose them. Instead draw the eye down and balance the body with a pair of slight flare boot-cut jeans in a mid rise that's fitted throughout the hips. If you have short legs, make sure you pay attention to the length; this is one of the most important aspects when choosing a pair of jeans. Denim should be about a half of an inch above the ground when wearing heels or flats. Darker washes, with a front crease from the knee to the hem, also elongate your legs. A new option re-emerging is the higher waist trouser jean, which not only slims, but creates the illusion of mile long legs. Girls with a boyish figure or a body style considered to be rectangular will want to opt for a cut that will add the illusion of having curves, such as a mid-rise flare leg jean, where the denim is fitted through the hips and thigh, with the flare beginning above the knee.

The devil is in the details; you will want to consider different details of the jean itself. A fan of distressing and aged denim? Make sure not to go overboard. Extreme fading or jeans that appear to be destroyed may be popular with 15 year old pop tarts, but in reality can look tacky and dated. Dark denim in a crisp shape is always chic, as is a medium wash with well placed whiskering. Pay attention to pocket shape and angle. Hexagonal shapes that angle in towards the center tend to work best in creating a heart shaped booty for any body. Pockets placed slightly higher on the tush tend to make a flat booty look perkier and higher. Flap, or cargo pockets, also add some oomph to a small tush. Long pockets that pass the bottom of the tush are fantastic for shaping and lifting an ample booty. Avoid excess fading on the butt and the thighs, as they will make these areas look larger. Also pay attention to a lot of whiskering around the zipper area, which can also accentuate the hips. When considering rise, most women will be best served by a mid rise (a few inches below your belly button).

When choosing the right pair of plus size denim know your body type first and foremost, it is the basis of your search. Know which styles will work with your type and most importantly, what makes you feel fabulous.

Luckily for you, there are many online retailers of plus size costumes for women, and with a few clicks, you can find the perfect costume!

When choosing a plus size costume, it is important to take your measurements first. Many online retailers offer a chart for sizing guidelines. Take your bust, hip, and waist measurements at home with a sewing tape measure, to figure out what size you run. Some costumes come with everything shown in the picture, while others require you to purchase accessories separately. Shoes are generally not included, so you’ll want to be sure to pick out a pair to go with your great new costume. It is a good idea to purchase all the items you need for your costume at one time, to avoid problems with out of stock merchandise. After all, what’s a fairy without wings or a pirate without a bandanna?

By choosing to buy your costume and accessories at one time, you may also be able to take advantage of shipping discounts. Be sure to purchase your costume well in advance of your costume party to allow time for shipping, and returns if necessary. Check the individual sites return policy before you purchase, to avoid unpleasant surprises. In some cases, the costume must be returned before a certain date in order to receive a refund.

When choosing your costume, you have many options so take the time now to research before your costume party to find just the right plus size costume. This is your chance to shine, so choose your outfit carefully!

Plus Size Clothes: Big and Bad

By Jeanette Pollock

Just because a woman is into plus size clothing doesn’t mean her wardrobe has to be serviceable and not sexy. There are slinky night gowns, sexy teddies, black lace corset and even some naughty French maid outfits to be found online in the shops of sexy plus size clothing merchants.

One plus size clothing merchant we found online had a variety of sexy garb, that included a black and white playboy bunny dress with tail attached, a matching collar, white cuffs and sexy rabbit ears. This outfit was $49. Another of the naughty plus size wardrobes was a white spandex sexy school girl get up with a low cut white spandex top with a front tie, and a very short polyester and cotton plaid skirt with a Velcro closure. This plus size sexy clothing outfit also comes with white stretch stockings with stay-up elastic and a ruffled panty in a Brazilian cut. The cost to don these "learning curves" was $66.

The nurse’s costume in this sexy plus size clothing online catalog has a plunging neckline with underwire that will drive him wild. It includes a stretch satin white dress with cap sleeves and a zip front, a nurse’s cap and a stethoscope. The price for nursing him back to health in this outfit is $57.

One of the best sexy plus size clothing sellers is a French maid costume. This seven piece outfit can be purchased in black or red and includes a removable apron skirt, a teddiette with thong panty and cut out back, wristlets, a white choker, white garter, white stockings and white hairpiece. It retails for $66.

Plus Size Clothes: This History A Big Plus

By Jeanette Pollock

The story of the best known and first-ever plus size clothing retailer, RedCats USA, known until 2004 as Brylane, is the story of a young Lithuanian immigrant, Lena Bryant, who in 1901 started the firm. Bryant's husband died leaving her financially destitute. From money acquired with the sale of her diamond earrings, Bryant bought a sewing machine and started her dressing making business. Her plus size clothing beginnings was in the design and creation of wedding gowns. They she had an inspiration that resulted in her much lauded "number five" maternity tea dress. This instant success was the start of the biggest plus size catalog firm in the industry.

Lane Bryant is the flagship brand of the Redcats USA plus size clothing empire. It is noted for comfortable sportswear reasonably priced. The Limited Inc. bought Lane Bryant in 1981, relaunching the catalog division as Brylane, which in 2004 was renamed Redcats USA.

In 1907 Lerner Shops premiered its plus size clothing shops on Manhattan's 7th Avenue, focusing on clothing that plus size women could wear to the office and then out on the town at night. In 1985 Lerner became part of the Limited Inc. and the plus size clothing catalog division of Lerner shops debuted. One of the most popular Lerner shop plus size clothing types are suits and dresses with style and flair.

Roaman's plus size clothing was founded in 1932. This retail chain, centered on women who wanted to look great in spite of obesity, began on Manhattan's fifth avenue right across the street from Lord & Taylor. The success of this plus size clothing line was so popular that its expansion finally totaled 50 stores. Redcats USA acquired this second most popular plus size clothing catalog in 1982.

Choosing The Fashion Accessory That Fits You

When it comes to a beautiful outfit, nothing completes a look like a well-chosen fashion accessory. You may be wearing the perfect little black dress or the sleek and sophisticated pant suit but until you pair it with a fashion accessory it never quite becomes the full expression of which it is capable.

A fashion accessory can mean many different things to different people. For the shoe enthusiasts among us, no outfit is worth wearing without a stunning and complementary pair of shoes. There are certainly a bevy of beautiful shoes on the market today made by creative designers who know what looks good. But don’t be afraid to check out vintage stores where you could easily find a pair of classic shoes reflective of that period in history. Pairing the contemporary with the vintage is a great way to create drama and interest.

For others, a fashion accessory may mean a unique belt that goes with a great pair of jeans – taking the ordinary to the extraordinary; or a purse to offset elegant eveningwear. Ladies’ handbags are always popular vintage items, so you’ll be sure to find a number of beautiful bags in antique stores. Carrying a vintage bag to an elegant evening affair is a trend even seen on Hollywood’s red carpets.

However, when most people think of a fashion accessory they think of jewelry. Jewelry as a fashion accessory can complement any outfit and lend itself to casual clothing as well as eveningwear because of its versatility. Diamonds, crystal, silver, and gold – the jewelry that you choose will define your look; nothing changes the look of an outfit more. For this reason, jewelry is by far the most influential fashion accessory.

Finding the fashion accessory that complements a particular outfit depends largely on your personal style. That perfect fashion accessory may be waiting for you at your nearby mall or large retail store. But when looking for a unique fashion accessory it’s imperative that you think creatively.

Hit the local antique stores where you will find a nod to the vintage fashion accessory. Pair a modern pair of pants with a 1950s piece of jewelry or a contemporary evening dress with an elegant 1920s scarf. The possibilities are endless when it comes to the fashion accessory. With the addition of a few pieces you are able to infuse the outfit with your personal style and elevate your look to the next level.

Fashion and Style

By Guy Katir

Today's hairstyle fashion demoes hairstyles, and many celebrities including Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Aniston, and Jessica Simpson are the well known stars of hairstyles. To make your hairstyles: separate your hair into divisions and begin styling from the bottom layer through to the top layer. While there are a lot of nice curly hairstyles that you can choose from, if you don't style your curls properly then they would look like they're out of control and wrecking the look of your hairstyle.

Hairstyles that can be seen from another century or styling your hair to be parted in the middle are not blandishing. Longer hair can be difficult to take care of and shorter hair may not look good on different facial shapes as well but medium hairstyles seem to be just good for a lot of women. This decade saw the transition in hairstyles, from the more detained styles of the Victorian epoch to laxer, fuller hairstyles. Taking good care of short curly hairstyles is more than just shampooing, washing it and then gushing a pick through your hair, although it's easy as you can do just that. With the debut of the new hair straightening iron you can also create celebrity hairstyles without the need for a highly and costly trained hair stylist.

But with the fact is that it is not as bad as it may sound, because there are a lot of the chances to have straight hair that may turn so easily into hairstyles. A potential employee should avoid extremes in makeup, hairstyles and clothing. Being simple means that you can be taught anything that is potentially being resilient. Hairstyles play a significant role in our biases of the people we meet. So what kind of short hairstyles women would like are out there and how do you decide on the one that is right for you.

Fashion Merchandising Colleges

By Christain Cullen

If you are interested in breaking into the field of fashion, or you have some ideas that are truly ground breaking, you will want to attend one of the many fashion merchandising colleges that are available to teach you what you need to know about fashion. After you have attended a fashion merchandising college, you will be able to show your ideas that you have put together to the major corporations and stores so they will be more willing to pick up your line of clothing. You will also learn about how trends come and go in the world of fashion, and you will be more likely to pick up on the latest trend and, in doing so, make a name for yourself around the world.
Anyone who has tried to make it in the world of fashion will tell you how important it is that you expand your education at one of the fashion merchandising colleges in the country or abroad. You will learn why some clothing is made the way it is, and you may be able to pick up an idea and improve on it. You will learn about colors and why some work best with certain others while some do not. You will be able to put your creativity to the test, and you will be able to sew together anything you can think of.

When you are attending classes at fashion merchandising colleges, you will also be making contacts and putting together a portfolio of people you will be able to rely on in the future. You may meet a potential employer while you are studying fashion, or you could even meet a talented person that you would one day hire to work for you. You will also have a large group of critics that you could daily model your ideas for. If you have come up with an idea while at home, you can wear it to class and get ideas and critiques to make it better.

Fashion Accessories, From Top To Bottom!

By Elli Rose

We all strive to look our best, and choosing the perfect accessories doesn't have to be difficult or expensive. Great accessories can help dress up or dress down any outfit. Even blue jeans with a sweater can be dressed up with a nice necklace, earrings, bracelet, belt, and shoes. The same jeans and sweater can become very casual with fewer accessories and tennis shoes.

Hair accessories are a great way to make a bold impression. The perfect hair accessory can be functional, holding your hair any way you want it, while at the same time being very fashionable. From the greatest up style to extensions, hair accessories can be your best friend.

Some people don't consider makeup a fashion accessory, but makeup can do so much for your overall appearance! Mascara helps open your eyes and give you a more confident, awake appearance. Earrings and necklaces can almost literally make or break an outfit. The right earrings and necklace can make you look classy, sophisticated, and beautiful. Making the wrong decision with these important accessories can frame your face in ways that are very unappealing.

Today's purses and handbags are designed to make their very own fashion statement. There are so many colors and styles, you can almost have a different handbag for every outfit in your wardrobe. Whether you prefer a large purse, a small satchel, or something in between, you can never go wrong with the right purse.

Jewelry like rings and bracelets can really help add dazzle and shine to any outfit, whether it's jeans and a shirt or that sexy little dress that usually hangs in the closet. We know you have one! Belts can add a lot to almost any outfit. A big, chunky belt can add a lot of flare to your jeans and favorite shirt or add a great waistline to a nice straight dress. The right belt can also make a skirt and blouse look like they were meant to be together, even if they weren't.

Shoes, though at the bottom, can top off your overall look. Cute little boat shoes or ballerina slippers can do things for a pair of jeans that tennis shoes just can't. Nice flats or even low to medium heels can also add some great attitude to your favorite jeans. Of course, if you're going to be wearing that cute little sexy dress that usually hangs in the closet, don't try to dress it down with tennis shoes - it just doesn't work that way! See, we know that little dress is in the closet!

So there you have it, a basic rundown of some awesome accessory tips!

Current Fashion Trends in Costume Jewelry and Accessories

Color Trends in Costume Jewelry

The fall fashion trends are ushering in another excellent season for costume jewelry and accessories. Rich colors and bold looks dominate the trend. Teal, amber and amethyst are the important colors with olivine and green used as neutrals. Topaz and peacock are also important and all indications are that rich color will continue into the spring season. Metals are seeing a return to gold, but silver is still stronger.

Bold Designs Dominate Fashion Jewelry

Fashion jewelry thrives when bold designs are in vogue and that is very much the case this season. The high fashion look is popular in necklaces, earrings, and bracelets with natural components contributing to the designs. Wood is continuing its second season of popularity with shell important even in the fall line. But the rising star in natural materials is gemstone, which provides the beauty of natural semiprecious stones to the costume jewelry designs. This will definitely continue and accelerate in the spring line. Also popular in neckwear are 48 inch and 60 inch ropes that are worn extended or doubled. Jet is strong in holiday jewelry and estate looks (antique designs) are becoming fashionable in bridal jewelry.

Traditional Costume Jewelry and Accessories

While costume jewelry in bold designs and rich colors forge the way for leading fashion, there is a larger market that shouldn’t be ignored in more traditional and classic looks. Theme jewelry in pendants, earrings, and charm bracelets has an appeal that goes beyond fashion alone because it identifies with what the wearer cares about. In addition, traditional rhinestone, bridal jewelry, evening bags, and formal gloves have a classic look with timeless appeal. There is a major market for these items that will always be present even as fashion changes.

Accessory Trends

Sequins and buttons are very big in all accessories, especially in handbags and evening bags. Beyond these, the looks of the larger bags introduced by leading designers are the trendy styles of the season. These are the bags the stars are carrying, which goes a long ways towards popularizing the styles. In evening bags, large sequins and buttons are very much in vogue, but traditional looks seem to be carrying the day.

Sunglasses are definitely big and bold with aviators the runaway favorite. Retro looks are also excellent and colored frames with matching lenses are very popular.

Hats and Headwear

In millinery, dress hats are an important part of the market, with ladies hats the dominant player. The looks are very traditional with a new element of pre-made bands allowing for the versatility of custom designs. Casual hats, however, account for the major share of the market and no design in 2005 is more important than the rollup cowboy hat. While the design is not popular in every region of the country, the sheer number of sales makes it the number one hat of the year. This rugged look that is typically American has risen to such popularity that it becomes an important fashion statement.

After cowboy hats, the three most fashionable designs are wide brim floppy hats, ladies fedoras, and newsboys. The entertainment field has played a major roll in popularizing these designs and the fashion looks continue into the fall season with felt, leather, wool, and leatherette used as the material for the fall version.

Fashion Jewelry – The Perfect Accessory

Nothing can complement an outfit like well chosen fashion jewelry. Any woman will tell you that the perfect dress is nothing without the perfect earrings or perfect necklace to enhance the neckline, color, material, etc. Fashion jewelry comes in a variety of styles and is appropriate for a host of different occasions.

Fashion jewelry by nature is versatile; it is made from a variety of materials – everything from crystal to silver – and lends itself as well to casual wear as it does to eveningwear. The affordability of fashion jewelry also allows people to purchase a number of different styles to complement different types of outfits.

The style of fashion jewelry depends quite a bit on where you find it. High-end department stores carry a range of fashion jewelry - everything from the most expensive to the most affordable. Fashion jewelry found in department stores come in all styles and colors and are made by a variety of designers.

Believe it or not, jewelry stores often carry a full line of fashion jewelry. While the merchandise may be a bit more expensive, it is often of higher, more sophisticated quality.

Antique stores are another resource for finding unusual fashion jewelry. Antique fashion jewelry can be unique and completely transform an outfit. Even better, you can easily own a piece of fashion jewelry representative of all the generations.

But if you’re looking for antique fashion jewelry you may want to consider approaching your mother, grandmother, or older aunt. Many times they will have a piece of fashion jewelry that will perfectly complement your outfit and you’ll have the added satisfaction of knowing you are wearing a family heirloom.

There are also online resources where you can find fashion jewelry at affordable prices along with the convenience of having it shipped straight to your door.

Fashion jewelry can revolutionize your wardrobe and even give new life to an older outfit. But above all, it should reflect your unique style and personality – and give you great pleasure wearing it each and every time.

Jewelry

Jewelry is a personal ornament, such as a necklace, ring, or bracelet, made from jewels, precious metals or other substance.

The word jewelry is derived from the word jewel, which was anglicised from the Old French "jouel" in around the 13th century.
Further tracing leads back to the Latin word "jocale", meaning plaything. Jewelry is one of the oldest forms of body adornment.

Although in earlier times jewelry was created for more practical uses, such as wealth storage and pinning clothes together, in recent times it has been used almost exclusively for decoration. The first pieces of jewelry were made from natural materials, such as bone, animal teeth, shell, wood, and carved stone. Jewelry was often made for people of high importance to show their status and, in many cases, they were buried with it.

Jewelry is made out of almost every material known and has been made to adorn nearly every body part, from hairpins to toe rings and many more types of jewelry. While high-quality is made with
gemstones and precious metals, there ia also a growing demand for Art jewelry where design and creativity is prized above material value. In addition there is the less-costly costume jewelry is made from less-valuable materials and is mass-produced. New variations include wire sculpture (wrap) jewelry, using anything from base metal wire with rock tumbled stone to precious metals and precious gemstones.

For a Glowing Skin

Make Up Tip

Do you know how and where to moisturize? Here are some helpful hints…
MOISTURISING our skin is essential to maintain that 'young, beautiful' look. On another note, is it necessary to moisturize all areas of your skin? The answer is NO. Many models actually go to private 'beauty' classes to learn how, when and where to moisturize their skin. So, learn your skin type, don't be 'afraid to try many products before settling on one.

Do not over moisturize as it can lead to clogged pores. Your forehead and cheeks tend to be the drier areas. There is no need to moisturize your chin if it is not needed.

Most women misdiagnose their skin type. This can cause improper moisturizing. You also need to change your techniques of moisturizing with the changes of seasons.

When using a moisturizer, always apply it to the skin in a circulatory motion. Pat your skin with the tips of your fingers gently as if playing a tune on a piano. This is also a great stimulant for your skin.

Tired of buying moisturizers too often? Here is how to make them last longer. Use a small amount of natural vegetable oil as a base first. This will help make your moisturizer last much longer.

Use a moisturizer as a base before applying your foundation. For best results, wait until the moisturizer is dry and then apply foundation. However, if your foundation is somewhat dry; then apply it right away; your moisturizer will help it to loosen up a bit. Know various types of moisturizers available.-

Fashion Merchandising

FASHION & MERCHANDISING

Fashion and merchandising are two closely-related design fields that involve the creation and arrangement of such things as clothing apparel, storefronts, and the visual layout of stores. Fashion professionals are involved in creating the clothes and accessories people use everyday or for special occasions.

A career in fashion usually entails learning about textiles, material construction, and visual design issues. Merchandising professionals merge visual design with marketing, focusing on how to sell fashion and fashion-related items to the masses. Fashion designers can typically expect to earn $30,000 to $67,000 working in an established business, although many designers go on to earn more operating their own designer boutiques. Merchandising employees on average earn from $30,000 to $76,000 or more, working as a planner or buyer. Since these two fields are often tightly integrated in the industry, fashion school programs tend to emphasize design with a strong business aspect in their lessons.

A Little Bit of This and That

In the Name of Fashion

Walking down the crowded streets, pushing your way through the queue, passing through the halls of a high school, dancing on the club floor, you simply can't help noticing how people especially youngsters, try to decorate every part of their body. In fact, it makes you think the human body should have had an extra pair of hands and feet not to mention ears and maybe a pair of extra nostrils too, so that people wouldn't need to pierce their lips, tongues, bellies and eye brows etc. The youngsters over the past decade have begun using rings and tops profusely. There was a time when you could identify and differentiate between a punk and a normal guy. The impact and influence of media is so strong that it is hard to stop the current generation from adopting methods of reconstructing themselves. They want to singularity, they crave for excitement.

Jewelry has lost its true essence and it is everywhere and anywhere. It just has to be there. Starting from the ear that could compensate two earrings which could palpably be decent somehow changed into the maximum amount of tops and earring the ear lobe can hold. It wouldn't be an exaggerated statement to say ears are adorned with 9 or 10 tops at a time which makes it similar to a jewelry shop's display of earrings with every sort of design, size and shape.

Then comes the nose, the nostrils can readily be pierced at one place. Ironically, girls these days wear so many nose pins, that their nose seems smaller than the ornaments on it.

Human's exuberance and liveliness is projected even more vividly when you find a pierced belly or lip. You can heave a sigh of relief and acknowledge the human consideration of restricting the number of rings and pins used at these spots to just one or maximum of two. Perhaps, the concept behind getting a tongue pierced can only be appreciated when the person with a tongue piercing sticks out a decorated tongue on you.

Humans have a revolting nature and an unquestionably brilliant way of making a muddle out of everything, even if its idea was to help them or adorn their lives. Even in the name of fashion, the newer generations seem to be making a mockery of themselves.

Wearing Jewelry Like a Pro..

Wearing Jewelry Like a Pro - New Fun Ways to Wear Your Jewelry

As with everything else in life, sometimes we fall into habits in how we wear our jewelry.

We put the brooch on out left shoulder, we wear the same necklace with the same dress and the same earrings.

This article will help stimulate your thinking about how you wear jewelry. It's not exhaustive -- if you have other ideas of better ways to use jewelry, let me know.
Pins are perhaps the most versatile of jewelry. In addition to the usual shoulder or lapel, they are often worn with scarves. Try these other ways of wearing your pins to extend your jewelry vocabulary.

Pins on hats. Wearing a pin on a hat has a very long tradition As hats become popular once again we can start making use of this great old technique.

You can pin the brooch on the hatband or higher up on the crown of the hat, or use it to hold up part of the brim (If your hat has a brim). Use a whole circle of pins around the hatband for a charming effect (especially effective with animal jewelry). Make a whole menagerie for your hat. Play with your animal jewelry brooches as if your were playing jungle as a child.

Pins can also be worn on belts and handbags. Try a pin on your belt a bit off to one side. If it's a belt with a simple or self buckle, this can add just the bit of extra interest you need (especially if you have a slim waist to show off).

Putting a brooch on an old handbag can give it new life. You can also take a plain purse and dress it up for evening by the addition of a brooch or two.

Brooches can be added to hair clips to make a one of a kind hair ornament. Or string your favorite brooch on a cord. By knotting the cord and tying the brooch in the middle you can keep many pins upright and hanging correctly. You now have a whole new pendant.

Try a line of 3 or 4 brooches running down the thigh of your jeans. Or group several brooches across your bodice like a necklace.

You can even use brooches on your shoes, if they are of the right sort. This is an unusual technique that's sure to get you noticed.

Rings, of course, can be worn on chains around your neck as well as on your fingers. In the Renaissance they used to make very large rings specifically to be worn around the neck (they were too big for anyone but a giant to wear on their fingers).

You can also weave rings into your hair. Whether you have long hair or short, you can put the ring very close to your scalp and then braid it in. This is a fun technique to give a little sparkle and curiosity to an otherwise commonplace hairdo.

Of course necklaces are great woven into hair too. This is a technique that's been practiced for centuries. During the time of the Louis's, French women had elaborate wigs with necklaces already woven in. Queen Elizabethan (and other Renaissance ladies) also wore necklaces with strings of jewels woven into her elaborate hairdos.

If you have some long necklaces that unclip, try weaving them around a belt before putting it on. You can secure the ends with a small piece of tape or tie them on with a big of colored string. This can make a plain black dress upscale evening attire. A great tip for travelers.

If you have a charm bracelet or three, try adding a chain or cord to each end and wearing it as a necklace -- fun and tres chic.

The possibilities are endless... Just let your imagine take flight, and let me know if you come out with other great ways to wear jewelry.
