RIP THE RUNWAY 2009

What an inspiring show, so much talent
I have never been to something like it.
So much hard work went into it and it
showed.

Backstage was chaotic, full of rehearsal's
hairspray,clothing,half naked models and
photographers it was great.
When it came down to the actual show
it started with a dance number which a friend
of mine Sabrina.C had put together it really
set the tone for the whole show, the mc was up
beat and super fun, the DJ was good and got
the attenders really hyped for it all!

there was even a minute of silence for the
great Michael Jackson which got me a bit
teary eyed.

Congratulations to all the designers
You all did an amazing job, I am
thankful that your all representing
Calgary with your art and fashion.

Meet My Muse(s) #5

"What people say isn't going to stop me. I have to do things for myself".
-Kate Moss

"I am now determined to do really weird parts but I think I overdo it in auditions so nobody really trusts me! ".
-Robert Pattinson

"Never say never. The things that you don't plan are the best. I'm a very spontaneous person".
-Lindsay Lohan

These three are my latest obsessions and really need no introduction, they all have carefree style and all have a little mystery to them.

I could not chose just one muse so they all are!!

Let Them Eat, Fashion

I just found this movie again in my huge pile of dvd's and thought I should watch it, since it has been a while since i have seen it, and oh my God I forgot how much I love everything about this movie and I love every thing they wear! I am mainly obsessed with Marie's hair in the movie. I love how big and over the top it was ( the scene where she has a ship in her hair as an accessory, mad love!) and the outfits were amazing. all the gowns and how they were young with all this
money at there fingertips to w
aste on themselves and party and look good while doing it!

The movie has a pop to it which I love. Every detail in the film ties in with the fashion! I cant really list all of the fashion I loved in it mainly the big feathers, the pattern on the dresses, the fans, just all of it!

Air Head

The name of this designer is Federica Moretti and has a vision that I am loving to bits!

I love hats, but these totally remind me of 1960's French hats and head bands! There are hoods for men that look 17th century to me but in a modern kind of way.

I don't know what else to say other then you must check all the other stuff out. Its amazing!

Back to the future

Now I for some reason thought Mr. Calvin Klein
only made jeans and basics. Well I was surprised
to see that I was dead wrong! His spring 2009
collection is crisp and classic cool.

For the women it's simple whites but with great
angles and shapes which is great because it's not
just a boring piece and it's easy to wear and still look
killer!

The men's is really well fitted suits but some
of them have bold color such as red and yellow!
And it all is very now and futuristic which I am
a huge fan of!

Look at the rest of his collection
There are for sure some must have's!

Misshaped Minds

Alex & Chloe has been one of my favorite jewelry designers for the past three years now! They have created some of the most interesting and wicked pieces. To call it wearable art... is an understatement.
They have also branched off in different directions such as clothing and sunglasses, with interesting, dark and creative designs. They will always remain cool in my books.
They have come out with a new necklace collection titled "Tar" which is distorted sea shells and "tribalesque" pieces done over in tar and on silver chains.
Above are some of my favorite pieces but there was so many.It became super hard to pick just a few when I want it all!

Check out there website and there news page, where they show all their featured jewelry, its like
a "wheres waldo" of their collections.

Meet My Muse #4

I don't know how I could have forgotten about this one. Ladies and gents this is Gerodon Nicol! Not only is he handsome, has killer style and originally from Toronto, Canada but he and his other two friends and dj partners,Leigh Lezark and Greg Krelenstien are a trio who make some of the best mixes to date!

Geo has also released a photography book titled, The Misshapes which is a collection of photographs taken over years of sets they have played and is loaded with models, actresses, singers, etc. I have the book and I highly recommend going out and getting your hands on a copy. He loves styles that push it to the extreme and likes to take an outfit and alter it to make it a little more interesting, and this is why he is one of my muse's for 09!
